District Consumer Protection Council’s new body found

A new body to District Consumer Protection Council (DCPC) was formed with Collector as the chairman accompanied by 20 members. Of them, 10 are officials nominated by Collector and 10 from the civic society. Joint Collector acts as vice-chairman of DCPC.
Kakinada: A new body to District Consumer Protection Council (DCPC) was formed with Collector as the chairman accompanied by 20 members. Of them, 10 are officials nominated by Collector and 10 from the civic society. Joint Collector acts as vice-chairman of DCPC.
CPCs also be constituted at mandal and division level similar to district level and Joint Collector is empowered to constitute the councils. The council meeting will be held in the last week of April.
Collector Karthikeya Misra said that the council should protect the rights of consumers at all levels and work with accountability. “It is the duty of the council
to infuse confidence among the customers by working with accountability,” he added.
