Tobacco Board secretary visits auction centers
Tobacco Board secretary Addanki Sridhar Babu visited the Vellampali, Ongole 1 and Ongole 2 auction centers and interacted with the farmers on Wednesday.
Ongole: Tobacco Board secretary Addanki Sridhar Babu visited the Vellampali, Ongole 1 and Ongole 2 auction centers and interacted with the farmers on Wednesday.
In the interaction, the farmers informed the secretary that the auction was getting late due the board allowing less number of bales per day. They asked him to increase the number bales to speed up the auction process and see the prices were stabilised.
Sridhar Babu assured the farmers that necessary action would be taken to increase the speed, as soon as the auction in Karnataka concludes in a week. He promised to interact with the merchants also to stabilise the prices in the auction.
Ongole regional manager of Tobacco Board G Umamaheswara Rao, auction officer K Ravi Kumar, Tobacco Board member Balineni Seethaiah and others also participated in the programme.
