Facelift to Venugopala Swamy temple
The renovated Geeta Mandapam, Yagasala, Radhasala, glass mandapam, kitchen and office were inaugurated on the premises of Sri Rukmini, Satyabhama Sametha Venugopala Swamy temple here on Thursday.

Godavari Urban Development Authority chairman Ganni Krishna, MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana and Kapu Corporation director Yerra Venugopala Raidu inaugurated them. Many others participated in the programme.
Chief priests KVSRN Acharyulu, K Anantha Padmanabha Charyulu and priests K Vijaya Saradhi Acharyulu and K Kiran Kumara Charyulu, welcomed the guests at Rajagopuram of the temple.Later, special pujas were performed.
The temple executive officer, NS Peddi Raju said the entire temple was given a facelift with painting apart from renovation of some parts.
Sri Venugopala Swamy is the Kshetrapalaka of the city and the temple has a history of about 700 years. The number of devotees are increasing every year and all the pujas are being performed as per agama sastras. Many development plans were on the cards, he added.
