Padayatra for SCS today
Former MLC KS Lakshmana Rao, urged the people to fight for Special Category Status to the State.Addressing a press meet held in the CPM district office here on Thursday, he requested people to make padayatra to be held on March 6 a success. He said that development was possible with the SCS.

He said that development was possible with the SCS.
He felt that if SCS was given, entrepreneurs would come forward to set up industries in the state. As a result, the employment opportunities would be generated. He criticised that the BJP government had failed to fulfill promises mentioned in the state bifurcation act and added that the TDP government had also failed to mount pressure on the Centre.
He stressed on need to allot more funds for backward Palnadu region in the district.The CPM district secretary, Pasam Rama Rao said, “We have long sea coast and there is scope to set up agro based industries.”
Later, he released booklet relating to promises assured in the state bifurcation act. He informed that CPI, CPM and Jana Sena activists would participate.
