JSP, Left organise padayatra for SCS
The Left parties and Jana Sena Party (JSP) jointly conducted Padayatra in Bhimavaram and Akiveedu towns in West Godavari district on Friday, demanding that the Centre accord the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.
Bhimavaram/Akiveedu: The Left parties and Jana Sena Party (JSP) jointly conducted Padayatra in Bhimavaram and Akiveedu towns in West Godavari district on Friday, demanding that the Centre accord the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.
In Bhimavaram, the CPI, the CPM and the Jana Sena Party workers started the Padayatra at New Bus Stand and passed through PP Road, Prakasham Chowk, Ambedkar Centre, JP Road and reached Prakasham Chowk.
Addressing the Padayatra, CPM District Delta Committee secretary B Balaram alleged that over the last four years, the BJP-TDP combine had played dramas over the SCS. He criticised the BJP for adjourning the Lok Sabha over the no-confidence motion.
Jana Sena leader Undavalli Ramesh Naidu said that the JSP supremo, Pawan Kalyan had supported the BJP with a hope that Modi government would benefit Andhra Pradesh. The JSP would agitate until the State gets the SCS, he added.
CPI area secretary Chellaboyina Rangarao said that the BJP started telling lies regarding the SCS and the people would teach a lesson to it in the next elections. CPM district leaders JNV Gopalan, BV Varma, B Vasudeva Rao, JSP leaders Challa Ramu, B Durga Prasad, Magapu Bhagat Singh, CPI leaders M Lakshmipathi, T Kameswara Rao, led the padayatra.
In Akiveedu, the CPI, CPM and JSP took out Padayatra in the main streets of the town. The Left parties and JSP leaders informed that the agitation would continue until the State gets the SCS.
JSP leaders Gavara Lakshmi, Jim Anil, Kopalle Hanuma, Amudala Nani, CPM leaders Bokka Satyanarayana, Penki Appa Rao, Dokala Satyavati, CPI leader Subba Raju participated in the Padayatra.
