Vijayawada: Nrutyanjali dance festival concluded at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here on Thursday. ‘Nrutyanjali’ was organised by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority in association with Sri Vagdevi Kuchipudi Nrityalaya.
On the concluding day the festival, show commenced with the dance recital ‘Bhamakalapam’ by Dr Vedantam Radhesyam (Kuchipudi) and troupe.

The troupe presented ‘Pravesa daruvu’ and impressed the audience. All the connoisseurs gathered in the auditorium appreciated the artistes for their excellent dance performance. The item ‘Mahishasuramardhani’ was presented by Sri Srikrishna troupe of Pondicherry. Though it was an old item for the audience of Vijayawada, the way the troupe presented this item captured the eyes.

As a tradition, the local artistes and disciples of Sappa Sivakumar performed the item ‘Amba Paraku Devi Paraku’ as welcome dance.

On the second day of the festival, Kuchipudi dance items were performed by Kuchipudu Natya Nilayam (Eluru). The troupe of Swetha Venkatesh (Bangalore) presented Bharatanatyam recital and the jugalbandi of Kathakali, a Kerala state traditional dance form by Jistnu Ravi and Neetu Suryanarayan.

It is surprised that no tourism department authorities attended to participate in the festival. However, art lovers of Vijayawada participated at the meeting.
