On receiving the information of suspicious moments of the offender at One-Town Sivalayam Street, the police immediately swung into action and nabbed her.

The CCS police presented the accused Patina Surekha alias Bujji before the media and said she had diverted attention of an old woman at RTC Bus Station by promising that she could cure her breathing problem. She gave some sleeping pills and after the old women fell asleep she took away the golden ornaments of the victim.

Earlier, the accused Surekha worked as a tailor. She deserted the profession when her debts mounted. She found it easy cheating people.
