Collector distributes pensions to transgender
Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra distributed newly sanctioned pensions to transgender at the Collectorate here on Monday.
Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra distributed newly sanctioned pensions to transgender at the Collectorate here on Monday.
Speaking on this occasion, Mishra said that the government had issued orders to pay the pensions to transgender community. He informed that the transgender community should obtain a medical certificate to get the pension.
He said that they were going to conduct a special medical camp for the transgender community to issue the medical certificates.
He further said that all those transgender would get 1,500 rupees pension. He distributed Rs 1,500 pension each to 23 transgender.
Joint Collector Mallikarjuna, DRDA PD Malli Babu, ICDS PD Sita Maha Lakshmi, DWAMA PD Raja Kumari and others participated in the programme.
