Human chain formed for Special Category Status
Vijayawada: More than 100 members of Siddhartha Walkers Club (SWC) formed a human chain at Mother Teresa Statue near Siddhartha Arts and Science College here on Monday, demanding that the BJP-led NDA government accord Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh and fulfil bifurcation promises.
Speaking to the media persons, SWC president Lingam Narayana Rao said that the BJP government had betrayed the people of AP for the last four years over the SCS. He said that the AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu went to Delhi about 30 times to discuss on SCS and bifurcation promises. The BJP was trying cheat 5 crore people of AP.
He said that human chain was formed against the ‘dictatorship’ governance of the BJP and to extend their solidarity to the CM who was fighting for the state sincerely against the Central government.
The members of the SWC displayed banner ‘Pratyeka Hoda Andhrula Hakku”, and related placards.
