Call to transform city into children-friendly
Everyone should feel the responsibility to save street children and give them a new lease of life and childhood, said Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSPCR) chairperson Ganta Hymavathy.She was the chief guest at the International Street Children’s Day organised by Forum for Children Rights here on Thursday.
Vijayawada: Everyone should feel the responsibility to save street children and give them a new lease of life and childhood, said Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSPCR) chairperson Ganta Hymavathy.She was the chief guest at the International Street Children’s Day organised by Forum for Children Rights here on Thursday.
She flagged of the rally which started from Dharna Chowk to Forum for Child Rights office. She said Vijayawada would be transformed as child-friendly city.She said the essential things for the progress of society were child protection, education, health and development. She appealed to all to protect street children who were away from their houses for various reasons.
She complimented the Forum for Child Rights organisation which was doing this noble service for the past 20 years. She urged people to contact AP SCPCR, and call Child Line-1098 if they found any child who was in need of help.
