District Collector Kartikeya Mishra has ordered the district panchayat officer that they should implement the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA) from April 14 to May 5 in all the selected villages in the district.  He reviewed a meeting on the implementation of the GSA with all the related officials at the court hall at the Collectorate.

He reviewed a meeting on the implementation of the GSA with all the related officials at the court hall at the Collectorate.

Speaking on the occasion, he ordered the officials that they should depute nodal officers to implement seven schemes in the 21 selected villages from 13 mandals in the district. He further informed that Prime Minister Modi would inaugurate the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan programme from Bijapur on the occasion of the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar on Saturday.

Mishra also directed the officials that they should make necessary arrangements for the live telecast of the message by the PM and CM. He ordered the DPO that they should administer a special drive on sanitation, on ODF and on dry and wet garbage separation at all the villages implementing Swachh Bharat Parva. He also instructed the officials that they should take measures to paint schools, Anganwadi centres and Primary Health Centres in the villages under this programme.

Mishra also directed the officials that they should campaign to stop the usage of plastic carry bags and the usage of individual lavatories in the villages. Mishra listed out things that need to be followed until the end of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan on May 5.
