Eluru: Indian Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU) State president P Prasad has called upon the jute workers to fight against the jute mill management to get their bonus arrears and an increase in their wages.

He addressed the jute workers at Sri Krishna Jute Mills here on Thursday, as part of union verification campaign. The union verification of the recognised union would be held on April 17 in the mill.

He stated that the IFTU had been fighting for 25 years for the welfare of the workers in the mill and had succeeded in getting various financial benefits and rights to the workers.

IFTU State general secretary K Polari explained the IFTU affiliated Jute Mazdoor Union (JMU) was fighting for the cause of the workers over the last two-and-a-half decades.
