Giddalur: Though the governments are introducing various schemes for the poor Muslims, they are lacking awareness on them and so failing to utilise them, said the Muslim Hakkula Porata Samiti state president Shaik Khajavali.

He attended as the chief guest at the meeting held in the local Shadikhana and presided by the advisor of MHPS, Shaik Mastanvali on Thursday and assured that they would organise camps to create awareness on various programmes.

Khajavali said that the Muslim fraternity was lacking unity and said that they were not able to utilise all schemes as the government was just making allocations but not really releasing funds. He demanded that the political parties give nine percent of seats to Muslims based on the population ratio and said that they should give at least one seat in Prakasam district.

MHPS state general secretary Haji Mohammed Farookh Shubli said that the Muslims were way backward than the dalits in the social, education and financial comparisons. He called upon the Muslims to maintain unity in fighting for the rights and finding solutions for the issues being faced by them.

The MHPS vice-president, Shaik Babavali demanded that the government implement the recommendations of Ranganath Misra and Sachar committees.

The youth president, Shaik Nagulmeera announced that they would support only to the parties who announces a Muslim Sub-plan and loans to Muslim unemployed youth.

They elected Golconda Nayab Rasul and SA Khajavali as members in the state committee while Shaik Jaffer, Khaja Hussain, Tiger Basha, Mujmil, Pathan Lathif Khan, Shaik Khaja Hussain were elected for the district committee. The district president, Ibrahim Khaleel, general secretary Rafi announced that they would conduct awareness meetings for Muslims in all Assembly constituencies in the district.
