Eluru: The round-table of all parties has called upon the people to participate in the state bandh on April 16, to pressurise the Centre to accord Special Category Status to the State.

The Congress Eluru city committee president, Rajanala Ramamohan Rao presided over the meeting. The Left parties and the Congress leaders participated in the meeting.The meeting resolved to exempt the Sri Krishna Jute Mill from the bandh as the union verification of the mill would be conducted on that day.

The meeting requested all sections of people, students of colleges, schools, cinemas to cooperate for the bandh.The meeting opined that the SCS was the only solution for the State’s development.

Leaders Dega Prabhakar, Puppala Kannababu, Uppuluri Hemashankar (CPI), Galla Sarada (Mahila Samakhya), K Krishnamacharyulu (AITUC), B Somaiah, Palle Kishore (CPM), Sagar Babu, Jalla Harikrishna (Jana Sena), Boda Kiran (YSRCP), Badda Venktrao (New Democracy), Kanegolla Damodar Rao (Jewellers Assocation) and others participated in the meeting.
