Walkers sweep roads over SCS
Members of NSM Public School Walkers Association participated in unique protest by sweeping roads and staged ‘rasta roko’ here on Friday, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.
Vijayawada: Members of NSM Public School Walkers Association participated in unique protest by sweeping roads and staged ‘rasta roko’ here on Friday, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.
The protest was led by the association secretary, Nimmagadda Venkaiah Babu. The protesters wanted the Central government to fulfil bifurcation promises and release funds to the state for the development activities.
The members protested by raising slogans against the Centre. They participated in road blockade at Benz Circle and NTR Circle. A rally was organised from the school to Benz Circle via NTR Circle and back to the school.
Venkaiah Babu said that only with SCS there would be development in the state as the state need to be developed in all aspects after bifurcation of the state.
Walkers Association members P Anji Reddy, J Sambasiva Rao, A Venkateswara Rao and others participated in the rally.
