Guntur: Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi leaders urged the people to make state bandh on April 16 a success to mount pressure on the Centre for Special Category Status.

They took out a rally from Sankar Vilas Centre to Ambedkar Statue Centre here on Sunday. Speaking on this occasion, CPI State assistant secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao said that the Centre had failed to fulfill the assurances mentioned in the State Bifurcation Act and cheated the people of AP.

He criticised that the Centre had failed to give separate railway zone for AP, steel plant at Kadapah and sufficient funds for the construction of the Vizag steel plant. He warned that the voters would teach a lesson to the BJP and TDP which cheated the people of the state. He sought cooperation of all the business establishments, educational institutions to make the proposed bandh a success.

CPM district secretary Pasam Rama Rao, CPI district secretary Jangala Ajay Kumar, Jana Sena leader Gadde Tirupati Rao were among those participated.
