Rupees 2.48 cr man-days of work to be created under NREGS
District Collector Kartikeya Mishra ordered the officials to provide Rs 2.48 crore man-days of work to the labourers in the current financial year under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).He participated in a workshop on the progress of the employment guarantee scheme in the district at the Collectorate here.
Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra ordered the officials to provide Rs 2.48 crore man-days of work to the labourers in the current financial year under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).He participated in a workshop on the progress of the employment guarantee scheme in the district at the Collectorate here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mishra ordered the officials that they should take measures to increase the attendance of the labourers under the MGNREGS. He informed that the administration had provided Rs 1.61 crore man-days of work during the last financial year and paid Rs 166 as an average wage to the labourers.
He also ordered the officials that they should make proper plans to complete 75 percent of works for paying the wages under the wage component scheme in the coming three months. He further said that they should increase the average wage by Rs 200 to every labourer during the works.
The Collector instructed the officials to divide work under the four recognised categories in the mandals depending upon the attendance of the labourers. He ordered the officials to put all the agency mandals in A category only.
Mishra also ordered the officials that they should supply buttermilk to the labourers during their work.ITDA project officers Nishant Kumar, Abshikt Kishore, Sub-Collectors Sai Kanth Varma, Vinod Kumar, DWAMA PD Raja Kumari, RDOs and other officials participated.
