Telugu Yuvata workers and leaders observed Jala Deeksha in River Gostani at Tanuku town, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.Tanuku MLA Arimilli Radhakrishna and Telugu Yuvata workers rallied in the town and reached Gostani river in the town on Sunday morning.

The MLA and other leaders went waist-deep in the river and raised slogans for SCS to the State.
The MLA stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured the Andhra people at Tirupati that the BJP-led government would accord the SCS to the State. However, during the last four years, the BJP government had failed to announce it. He demanded that the Centre implement the AP Reorganization Act assurances besides according the SCS to the State.
