Kakinada: District Revenue Officer SVS Subba Lakshmi suggested the officials that they should arrange special ramps at every polling station for the convenience of senior citizens and differently abled persons while they come to cast their votes during the polling days.

She reviewed polling arrangements at a meeting with the ZP CEO, officials of Medical and Health Department, Disabled Welfare, Education Department, Panchayat Raj and Information and Public Relations departments officials at the court hall here on Tuesday evening.
She suggested the Tahsildars and other officials through a videoconference that they should provide wheelchair facility at every polling station.

She ordered them to send a list of those polling stations where ramps were not arranged for the convenience of the differently abled persons. She instructed the Tahsildars to bring awareness among the differently abled persons on the facilities the government was providing for them as per the instructions from the ECI.

She asked the Tahsildars that they should provide a separate queue line for the differently abled persons during the polling day and further ordered them to provide transportation facility from the houses of differently abled to the polling stations.
