Month-long free summer sports camp begins
Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai inaugurated free summer sports coaching camp in municipal stadium here on Wednesday.The free summer sports coaching camp will be continued up to May 25. Training will be imparted in 11 categories of sports in three centres in the city. As many as 11 physical directors impart coaching to 500 students during the one month duration.
Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai inaugurated free summer sports coaching camp in municipal stadium here on Wednesday.The free summer sports coaching camp will be continued up to May 25. Training will be imparted in 11 categories of sports in three centres in the city. As many as 11 physical directors impart coaching to 500 students during the one month duration.
Later, Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai said the free summer sports coaching centre would benefit the students and youth. Sports and games would bring recognition quickly and also helps to get jobs in sports quota. Sound health and good physique also be maintained by playing sports, she added.
Municipal Corporation was taking steps to construct an indoor stadium in the city to cater to the needs of players. Meanwhile, the corporation was providing necessary facilities in the existing stadiums, she explained.
MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana said an amount of Rs 4 lakh was allotted for the summer coaching camp and advised the students to avail this opportunity to enhance their skills.Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary said the government was encouraging sports by giving various incentives and decided to construct stadia for sports.
YSRCP floor leader Medapati Sharmila Reddy, corporation Additional Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana, corporators P NIrmala, KS Rao, K Eswari, R Parvathi,Deputy Commissioner TRJ Rao and others were present.
