Kakinada: Noted revolutionary Alluri Sitarama Raju’s commemoration festival would begin from May 1, informed the Alluri Sitarama Raju Yuvajana Sangham founder president Padala Veerabhadra Rao.

In a press release here on Sunday, Veerabhadra Rao informed that Sitarama Raju fought his last fight with the British from May 1 to 6 before he was caught by the British.

He further narrated that the revolutionary Alluri, wounded and nabbed in that last battle with the British when he was washing his wounds at Mampa Brook on May 7.Veerabhadra Rao also informed that the British shot and killed Rama Raju after tying him to a tree at Rajendrapalem near Krishnadevi Peta.

Veerabhadra Rao called upon the youth to perform the commemoration festival as a true tribute to the legendary revolutionary from Andhra Pradesh.
