In a statement, they said that the students from the college participated in the CyberThon 2018 held by the Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy as part of the Andhra Pradesh Cyber Security Summit 2018 at Novotel, Visakhapatnam on April 27 and 28.
The college principal Dr P Ravi Kumar said that in the 341 teams from various engineering colleges in the state, 41 teams were selected for the finals and in them, students from St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology achieved first prize.

The HoD of Computer Science and Engineering Dr P Harini said that the third year students S Krian Kumar, R Harika, V Naga Sowjanya, Sk Harshad and Y Bhanu Venkata Vaishnav won the first prize in state-level while the team with the second year students M Navyasri, P Balaji, G Vinay, T Kavyasri and P Tripura won the first prize in district-level. She said that the participants in the CyberThon were asked to explore the government websites of ePragati, Meekosam, Smart Pulse Survey and rectify the issues in them.

The state-level first prize winners St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology shared their prize money of Rs 80,000 with the fellow winners from International Institute of Digital Technologies, Tirupati and received it from Minister for Information Technology Nara Lokesh and JA Chowdary, the IT advisor and special chief secretary to the chief minister.

The first prize winners at district-level received Rs 6,000 as prize money, said the management. The college teaching and non-teaching staff along with the students appreciated the winners.
