Free cleft lip, palate surgery camp on May 6
The Aakrithi Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Center in Ongole will be conducting free cleft lip and palate surgeries for the poor in association with the Smile Train. They will be conducting a free camp in Ongole on May 6, announced Dr PMC Naidu of Aakrithi Hospital and Dr A Nagayya Naidu of Manasa Mother and Child Hospital in Ongole.
Ongole: The Aakrithi Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Center in Ongole will be conducting free cleft lip and palate surgeries for the poor in association with the Smile Train. They will be conducting a free camp in Ongole on May 6, announced Dr PMC Naidu of Aakrithi Hospital and Dr A Nagayya Naidu of Manasa Mother and Child Hospital in Ongole.
Dr Naidu announced that the cleft lip surgeries would be performed at the age of three months, palate surgery would be done at one year, bone grafting for gums would be done at 9 years of age and nose bent surgery at 16 years to the children. He said that the Akrithi Hospital had performed more than 2,000 surgeries for free and would continue to do in future.
He announced that a screening camp would be organised at the Manasa Mother and Child Hospital, Beside Aditya School, Lambadi Street, Ongole on May 6 to identify the children with the need of a surgery. He asked the public to recommend the poor people who do not know about the surgeries and give a fresh life. The doctors said that those who cannot attend for the screening camp can come directly to the hospital and surgery would be done on the next day for free.
