Krishna district U-16 cricket selection begins
The Krishna district under–16 boys cricket team selection commenced at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here on Thursday.
Vijayawada: The Krishna district under–16 boys cricket team selection commenced at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here on Thursday.
The selection process was held under the aegis of Krishna District Cricket Association (KDCA) secretary A Yella Rao and other members of the association.
About 120 interested players participated in the selection process. Rao said that trials were held for players in all categories like bowling, batting, fielding and wicket keeping. After the trial process, about 45 players were selected and they were divided into three teams.
The players of the three teams would play probable matches which would start from May 5 to 7 at the same venue. He said that after the probable matches, the Under–16 Krishna district team would be selected with a team size of 15, he added and said in the final team there would be three medium pace bowlers, two spin bowlers, one all-rounder and a wicket keeper.
