Cops receive 1,071 calls under Dial 100 programme

Guntur: Rural police received 1,071 phone calls through Dial 100 from the people during April.

Guntur Rural Superintendent of Police Ch Venkata Appala Naidu informed that out of the total calls received, bodily offences 241 cases, 176 offences against women, 158 calls received on accidents, 37 calls related to property offence, nine calls received relating to suicide attempts and 450 other category calls.

The SP forwarded the same to the concerned departments. A total 55 cases were registered, he added.
