Ongole: The final year mechanical students from PACE Institute of Technology and Sciences in Ongole, designed a smart shelter for the vehicles to save them from dust and sun.The students -- Shaik Khaza, A Sai Krishna Kumar, K Khasim Peeravali, Shaik Abid Basha and P Srinivasulu -- designed the smart shelter under the guidance of Dr Sukumar Puhan, planning and development director for the college.
The student team leader, Shaik Khaza explained that when the cars were parked under trees, on road or in industries, the paint on the vehicle loses its glow and brittleness increases. To address the issue, he explained that they made the smart shelter with ionized zinc plated pipes, waterproof fabric with ventilation and wheels to move around. He said that the shelter can be shifted to any place, if required and provides cool shade to the vehicle depending on the temperature outer side.
The college secretary, Maddisetty Sridhar, principal Dr M Srinivasan, HoD of mechanical engineering Aruna Santhi, HoD of automobile engineering KV Narasaiah appreciated the students.
