Rupees 1 lakh donated to eye bank

A resident of Kakinada Talluri Rama, wife of noted auditor Talluri Srinivasa Raju donated Rs 1 lakh to Badam Balakrishna Eye Bank.At a programme organised on the eye bank premises, the donation was handed over to bank chairman Dr S Chandrasekher on Friday. The eye bank was established in 2006 and provided eye sight to more than 3,500 persons in the last 12 years.

The eye bank was established in 2006 and provided eye sight to more than 3,500 persons in the last 12 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chandrasekhar said that for effective functioning of the eye banks, apart from cornea (eye) donations, financial assistance was also needed.The eye bank founder, Dr Badam Balakrishna, secretary S Papa Rao, treasurer Badam Chandrasekher and others participated.
