Commissioner inspects drains, water pipelines

Vijayawada: VMC Commissioner J Nivas conducted a field-level inspection of 26th division in Bhavanipuram here on Wednesday.He inspected the area as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would come for laying foundation stone for the Haj House at that place.He observed the pits on the roads and ordered the staff to close the pits.

Later, he inspected the storm water drain construction work taken up by L&T construction company at Kamakotinagar. He checked for drinking water pipe leakages, which allow drain water to enter water pipelines.

He observed that drinking water being wasted due to pipeline damage and expressed his ire on the public health officials and the L & T workers. He ordered the workers to immediately rectify the damage of the pipeline and see that the drinking water was not wasted.

He then monitored the garbage collection from door-to-door in the division and personally spoke to the residents about the garbage collection on a daily basis. He further enquired about the drinking water supply in the area.

Later, he inspected 27th division Gandhibomma and observed water pipeline leakage at two places and ordered to rectify on a war-footing.
