The YSRCP leaders performed ‘paalabhishekam’ to Dr BR Ambedkar statue at Lodge Centre here on Wednesday to protest the arrest of Nagarjuna at Sakhamur on Tuesday.
Speaking on this occasion, Mustafa wanted the TDP leaders to tender apology to Dalits.
He criticised that the government had no commitment to construct Ambedkar Smrutivanam and set up 125 feet high Ambedkar statue.
The TDP leaders had no right to criticise the YSRCP president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and reminded that when the YSRCP leaders were agitating to mount pressure on the government to start Ambedkar Smutivanam works, the ruling TDP was diluting the agitation by using police force.
YSRCP city president Lella Appi Reddy came down heavily on the TDP government for failure to set up Ambedkar statue at Ambedkar Smrutivanam. He reminded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had assured that he would spend Rs 199 crore on Ambedkar Smurtivanam. So far, he did not spend even a rupee. Later, they performed Paalabhishekam to Ambedkar statue.
YSRCP state general secretary Kilari Rosaiah, party leaders Mettu Venkata Appa Reddy, Chilaka Subba Rao, Kandi Sanjeeva Reddy were among those participated in the programme.
