Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar has said that the out-patient ward in All India Institute of Medical Sciences which was under construction at Mangalagiri will start functioning from March 2019 and added that the OP building construction will be complete by December this year.

He conducted a review meeting on the progress of the AIIMS construction works in the AIIMS office hall in Mangalagiri on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Mangalagiri AIIMS would be shifted to Mangalagiri Agriculture Market Yard premises soon.He instructed the officials to speed up and complete the works within the stipulated time. He directed them to lay 100 feet road from the national highway to the AIIMS buildings and instructed to take steps to construct 132 --33 kv electrical sub-station at the AIIMS.

AIIMS deputy director Sandeep Singh said that so far they had completed 25 per cent of the works in the first phase. He informed that during the first phase, they had spent Rs 274 crore. A sum of Rs 601 crore would be spent during the next phase for the construction of AIIMS, he added.

Transco chief engineer Rajabapaiah, superintendent engineer Jayabharat Rao, R&B superintendent engineer Madhavi Sukanya were among those participated in the meeting.
