The cricket fans from Ongole who have not had the fortune to witness IPL match live, are in for a treat on this Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13. The IPL Fan Park has selected Ongole to be one among the four cities to show four matches on large screens with the stadium like experience, and made arrangements for the same at the mini stadium in Ongole.  

Ongole: The cricket fans from Ongole who have not had the fortune to witness IPL match live, are in for a treat on this Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13. The IPL Fan Park has selected Ongole to be one among the four cities to show four matches on large screens with the stadium like experience, and made arrangements for the same at the mini stadium in Ongole.

With the initiation from Board Cricket Control in India and an aim to reach out to the cricket fans in 36 second tier cities like Ongole, with no cricket stadium, Indian Premier League is live streaming live matches on giant screens along with providing fun and food for the cricket fans.

The Prakasam District Cricket Association president, Namineni Kiran Kumar said that the Fan Park will provide stadium-like experience to the cricket fans by showing the matches on giant screen, providing food courts, games for the children and adults, which is a first time experience for the folks of Ongole.

He said that the IPL Fan Park will also be held in Dhanbad, Gwalior and Ratnagiri along with Ongole on Saturday and Sunday. He welcomed all cricket lovers including women, old aged and families along with the youth to enjoy the free entry event. He said that the fans will be given free passes with bar codes for entry at the counters set up at the venue and the same can be used for lucky dip token for exciting prizes.

The secretary of the PDCA, Chintapalli Pratap Kumar said that the IPL Fan Parks were receiving wider response and hosted more than 3 lakh fans last year. This year, with increased number of cities, the number will definitely raise, expected Pratap.
He said that they are making arrangements for nearly 9,000 people to comfortably view the matches at the Fan Park at mini stadium in the town.

He said that the match KXIP Vs KKR will be streamed at 4 pm while DD Vs RCB at 8 pm on Saturday and the match between CSK Vs SRH will be streamed at 4 pm and MI Vs RR at 8 pm on Sunday.
