About 275 children aged between 5 to 15 years participated in the free summer swimming coaching camp organised by Aqua Devils Welfare Association (ADWA) at Undavalli which concluded on Sunday. 

Vijayawada: About 275 children aged between 5 to 15 years participated in the free summer swimming coaching camp organised by Aqua Devils Welfare Association (ADWA) at Undavalli which concluded on Sunday.

The participants were given certificates of participation by former BCCI vice-president and MP Gokaraju Gangaraju and BCCI selection board chairman MSK Prasad. About 25 participants from the camp swam from the swimming camp to Bhavani Island to and fro which was about 1.25 km, and were given mementos.

Gokaraju Ganga Raju spoke about the importance of the sports and in particular swimming which was a very good exercise.MSK Prasad, asking everyone to learn swimming, said that it is a normal exercise like walking and running which is very good for health.

ADWA president Ramchander Rao said that the free swimming summer coaching camp started on April 26 and children aged between 5 to 15 years were trained at the camp in river water under the guidance of experienced coaches.

He said children were given egg, milk and biscuits. In all 600 people including ADWA members, parents participated on the concluding day of the swimming coaching camp.Association secretary L Rama Krishna, convener Ch L Narasimha Rao and others were present.
