9 fasting TDP MLAs fall ill

Hyderabad: The health condition of nine of the TDP MLAs fasting at old MLA Quaters for the withdrawal of FSA deteriorated on Tuesday. In the medical tests conducted by the doctors, the legislators � G Jaipal Yadav, Suman Rathod, D Uma Maheshwara Rao, Satyavathi Rathod, D Anasurya, Sreeram Rajgopal, K Sridhar, CH Ramesh and T Prabhakar � fell sick as their sugar levels were down and blood pressure was fluctuating. Doctors also informed police and TDP leaders that the sick MLAs required medical treatment immediately. In all, 25 MLAs, two MPs and two MLCs were participating in the power agitation. In the meantime, party president N Chandrababu Naidu, who is on Vastunna Meekosam padayatra in East Godavari district, held video conference with the MLAs and enquired about their health. He instructed party senior leaders to continue the stir if the government did not accept their demands. Tummala Nageshwara Rao warned of intensifying the agitation if the government used police to foil the indefinite strike. The TDP will also join the state bandh called by the left parties on April nine on the power issue. Earlier, CPI senior leader and MLA K Sambashiva Rao and the representatives of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Small Industries Association (FAPSIA) met the MLAs at dharna site and extended solidarity to their fight against the government. Late in the night Police DCP Kamalaasan Reddy visited the site but said it was only to supervise the law and order situation. Police had no plans to shift the members to hospital he clarified. However, a final decision will be taken looking at the medical report, he added. Meanwhile, the TDP had written to the Assembly Speaker for disqualification of party MLAs who had defied the whip and voted for no-confidence motion recently.
