Ram Charan TejaHyderabad: A report submitted to the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) by the city Police Commissioner on Tuesday, about 45 days after the street brawl involving the bodyguards of film actor Ram Charan Teja and two techies in Banjara Hills, said that the police could not register the case against the actor as the victims had not lodged the complaint.
Earlier, the SHRC had directed the Commissioner to submit an explanation on the brawl following a petition filed by Saleem, a lawyer, seeking action against the film star for prompting the attack on two employees in broad daylight. After hearing the case, the members of the SHRC decided to forward the report to the petitioner. On the other hand, the police urged the SHRC to dismiss the case as the victims had not sought action against those who were involved in the brawl. When contacted, Banjara Hills ACP Shanker Reddy said that the report contained two perspectives on the issue. It was found that the assault had happened in the very presence of the actor.
