Hyderabad: The CPI state secretary K Narayana on Saturday flayed the government for the increase in power charges that would cause Rs 6,500 crore additional burden on the people. In a statement, he said that the Andhra Pradesh Electric Regulatory Commission (APERC) had ceased to function as an autonomous body. It was more or less working under the government pressure. The hike was the conspiracy of both the ERC and government, he stated.
