Hyderabad : YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Tuesday demanded the government to convene a special Assembly session immediately, to discuss steps to prevent atrocities against women.A Addressing the press, YSRCP spokesperson Roja said that it was unfortunate that the atrocities against women were increasing in the national capital and in the State also.
Due to the government's inefficiency and its failure to punish the people responsible for such incidents, she remarked that the criminals were not afraid of perpetrating crime against women.She said that it was a shame for the State that crimes against women were increasing when the AICC was led by Sonia Gandhi and the State Home Ministry was being handled by Sabitha Indra Reddy.
She questioned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy why was he maintaining silence over the increasing number of rape incidents in the State.A Reddy was only interested in increasing the volumes of liquor business. A He had no interest in solving the drinking water problem and other issues being faced by people, she alleged.
The YSR party leader also demanded to convene an all party meeting to take some stringent steps to protect women from attacks.
