Anakapalli (Visakhapatnam): Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu promised that he would sign the first file waiving the interest on the loans to be given to the members of DWCRA and Self-Help Groups besides refund of interest that was already paid by them, if TDP was voted to power.

He was addressing a mammoth gathering soon after reaching Kasimkota junction from the RECS premises as part of his Vastunna-Meekosam Pada Yatra on Tuesday. A Mostly aged men, women, youth and party workers greeted the leader even from atop of nearby buildings when he reached the junction along with cine actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna and party rural district president Dadi Ratnakar and the entire area was filled with yellow flags and welcome banners.

When a person, Sankar, questioned Naidu whether total prohibition would be imposed if the TDP attained power, the former replied that he would first ban all belt shops and strictly control the prohibition. In his speech, Naidu promised that certain amount would be deposited in the name of new born female children so as to get a sum of Rs two lakh at the time of marriage.

About the ruling Congress party, the former chief minister alleged that it was an exponent in exploiting even natural resources and minerals and almost all the ministers in the present Cabinet are the partners of illegal acts done by the late YSR. "If all these ministers are arrested by the ACB, the next Cabinet meeting shall have to be organized in the Chanchalguda jail," he remarked. Referring to the YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Naidu alleged that the late YSR had given his son a sum of Rs one lakh crore.

He appealed to the electorate with folded hands to elect the TDP to serve them for a period of five years amid a loud applause. Taraka Ratna also reciprocated to the greetings extended from the public.

Cine actor Taraka Ratna meets Naidu

Anakapalli (Visakhapatnam): Cine actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna called on former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday at Kasimkota where the latter took the night halt as part of his Vastunna-Meekosam Pada Yatra.

Taraka Ratna was learnt to have inquired about Naidu's health condition in the closeted air-conditioned vehicle. Other party leaders who had discussions with Naidu include Floor leader in the Assembly Revanth Reddy, Sujana Choudary and Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.

Earlier in the day, a review meeting was held with booth and mandal level leaders and Assembly segment in-charge persons of Visakha North and Gajuwaka Assembly segments and took stock of the present state of affairs of the party.

Visakha urban district president Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, party senior leaders Gudivada Nagamani, Bharanikana Rama Rao and Harshavardhan Prasad were also present. Addressing the review meeting, Naidu said that there was a wide gap between the leaders and party workers and the gap has to be filled.

He remarked that the party leaders were not working while the lower rung workers were active and committed. He told the meeting, "If you put in five per cent of what I am doing, the party would triumph in the ensuing elections."
