Future plans in a few days

Hyderabad: The TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Friday thanked the people of Telangana for their "tremendous response" to the Chalo Assembly call braving arrests, bind overs, booking of cases, lathi-charge and other "excesses".

Talking to media after his release from police station, Kodandaram said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy indulged in self- goal. He considered the Chalo Assembly call as a prestige issue and came to Assembly at 6.30 am but failed to achieve anything. The pro- T leaders not only made the programme a reality and success but also burnt the effigy of "Andhra Rulers" within the premises of the Assembly and we congratulate them, he said. It was for the first time that an effigy was burnt at any time within the Assembly premises.

People of Telangana exhibited great courage and reached Hyderabad crossing all the hurdles that were created by the police. The overenthusiastic administration had converted the city into a fortress and deployed over 30,000 police force, barricaded all roads and the city wore the look of a battlefield. But nothing deterred the people from reaching Hyderabad in large numbers, he added.

Asked about the future action, he said that the TJAC leaders would soon meet and chalk out next action plan. On the bandh call given by KCR, he said it must have been an instant reaction after seeing the police repression and terror they had unleashed against the T activists.
