banu2Hyderabad: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who turned 64 on Saturday, did not celebrate his birthday as a mark of sympathy against the barbaric incident of rape in New Delhi.A He directed his party cadre not to organise any function to celebrate his birthday and asked them to join him in sharing the anguish and sorrow over the incident.

Though his wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh and MLA A Revanth Reddy reached Kasimkota mandal under Anakapalli Assembly segment in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday, Naidu stopped them from organising any function. Party leaders had brought a 64-kg cake to observe Naidu's birthday, but Naidu refused to cut the cake and asked them to take it back.

The TDP chief came down heavily on the Centre and the State, saying that the Congress regime had failed to provide protection to women. Even the children were vulnerable to assaults.
