Kurnool: A number of complaints poured in during the 'Dial Your Collector' programme here on Monday. Responding to the complaints, Joint Collector Kanna Babu said that action would be taken to pay the ex gratia for the last year's crop loss. Additional Joint Collector Rama Swamy and District Revenue Officer Venu Gopal Reddy also participated in the programme.

Bhimesh from Tarahalli village in Mantralayam mandal complained that a pit was dug in the village for setting up a tap but it was not covered. He appealed to the officials to cover it immediately to prevent any untoward incident of children falling in it.

A farmer, Mallikarjuna, of Boyanapalli village in Veldurti mandal, said that some people encroached 40 cents of land closing a road to Ramallakota village. The villagers of PUttapadu village in Devanakonda mandal appealed to arrange a motor to supply water from Handri River to the village. The joint collector said that Rs. one lakh was sanctioned for the motor and pipeline and it would be fitted in a week.

The villagers of Marri in Kowtalam mandal said that the motor pump had fallen in the bore well. They appealed to the officials to retrieve the pump to reinstate water supply.A The residents of Betamcherla harijanawada said that the officials were supplying two tanks of water everyday that was not enough. They appealed to send one more tank. A woman from Panyam complained that there was a wine shop just before her house and appealed to the officials to get it removed.
