Vijayashanti had reportedly ignored phone calls from the TRS headquarters and thereby incurred the ire of the party leadership on Wednesday night. The party sought to contact her to seek an explanation on her overtures to the Congress party in New Delhi, where she had met some top congress leaders, including Ahmed Patel. As she failed to respond, the TRS chief suspended her from the party for indulging in anti-party activities.
She claimed to be unwell to come out, but it did not sound convincing for the party leadership, which was already unhappy with her on different counts.
She made strategic moves by camping in New Delhi for a few days last week. Immediately after returning from New Delhi on July 28, the TRS cut-outs and banners near her residence were removed. The news that Vijayashanti is going to quit TRS made headlines in the media thus calling for action against her.
