Kurnool: Parakala Prabhakar, general secretary of Visalandhra Mahasabha said here on Saturday that the people from all over the state wanted a united Andhra Pradesh. The Visalandhra Mahasabha bus entourage reached here on Saturday as part of the state-wide tour. After garlanding the statue of Telugu Talli at Kondareddy Buruju, Parakala Prabhakar went to the advocates who have been on relay hunger strike for a united State at Srikrishna Devarayala statue in the city and expressed his solidarity.

Addressing the meeting at TGV Kalakshetram organised by the employees, teachers and private educational institutions, the general secretary of Visalandhra said that the people all over the state were not ready for any type of formula to divide the state. He described the decision to divide the state was a conspiracy of leaders of Hyderabad and Delhi. He said that the people would never agree to divide the state on the condition that Hyderabad would be made union territory or a common capital or equal division of water resources.

Prabhakar appealed to the people to continue a non-violent struggle for a united AP. Categorically stating that no political leader has any right to divide the state, Prabhakar said that it was everyone’s responsibility not to allow the politicians to take over the agitation for a united State.

He recalled that Visalandhra was formed three years ago to warn the people about the danger of the division of the State.
Non-Telugu people like Sonia Gandhi, Chidambaram, Digvijay Singh, Antony, Ghulam Nabi Azad have taken the decision to divide the state, he remarked. “It will not be possible even in dream,” he added. The state was formed on the linguistic basis during the Nehru regime, he recalled and said that leaders like KCR and some Seemandhra leaders have been trying to divide the state.

People’s representatives who wanted to make money from sand smuggling, commissions from mining have been trying to divide the state at the behest of Sonia Gandhi, he alleged. Referring to the earlier efforts to divide the state, he said that several people tried to divide the state thrice in the past, and the people effectively repulsed it. Earlier, the meeting paid homage by observing two-minute silence to the people who died after learning the decision to divide the state.
