Baadapalli Sitaram (29), belonging to a poor farming family of Sariyapalli, in Mandasa mandal, has become the third person from the State to die in the ‘Sindhurakshak’ (submarine) blast in Mumbai. Two from Visakhapatnam, Tuthika Rajesh and Dasari Prasad, and Sitaram were among the 18 killed in the explosion. So far only four bodies were retrieved, that too in pieces.

Sitaram was working as a sailor in Mumbai since 2011, after taking up the job in 2003 in Odisha. His parents, Ramudu and Eshwaramma, and relatives are wailing uncontrollably. He is their second son. They received the news of his death on Thursday. The whole village is plunged in grief.

Raghuram, Sitaram’s elder brother and a villager, Anand, besides his parents, have appealed to the government to expedite steps to trace the body and hand it over to the family.
