Hyderabad : Reiterating his opposition to separation of Telangana, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said bifurcation would deprive five districts of Coastal Andhra and four districts of Rayalaseema of irrigation water. Maintaining his stance that united AP was in the best interests of all, he said that it will be advantageous if the State remains united. “We can achieve anything if it is united”, he said.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for ‘synchronisation’ of the bureaucracy with executive, for greater good of the people. He was speaking as the chief guest at the 88th Foundation course for IFS and Central Civil Service officers at MCR HRD Institute.

Exhorting them to work hard, he said officials have a long service before them, unlike politicians. They have opportunity to serve for next 30 to 35 years, while politicians have only 5 years before they are re-elected. The officials have a big challenge of serving the society before them.

He said that everyone should try to learn from mistakes and try to correct themselves. "No one is perfect. We commit mistakes. We have to learn from our mistakes. We should learn from our failures. Perfection comes through experience. Don't say I am better than others. You have to learn to respect each other". Kiran Kumar Reddy felt the bureaucracy to have clarity of thought and consistency of thought. Though the political leaders form policies and programmes, it is for the officials to implement them though a better delivery mechanism, so that the benefits of programmes reach the people.

Providing example of efficiency can be met through IT, he said 150 most essential services are now done online through Mee Seva centres. Each transaction saves the people of bribes.
