What did Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy exactly say in Srikakulam regarding division of state on Sunday?
What almost the entire print media reported on Monday morning attracted critical remarks against the CM from Hyderabad to New Delhi. The critics included his own party people and even the AICC spokesperson Sandeep Dikshit. As per the media reports he said: “We could not stop the Phailin cyclone but we can definitely halt division of the State. If people extend their support we will certainly do that”. However, a reality check with the video footage shows him as saying something different. Speaking at Devunigudi Thota village of Kaviti Mandal of Srikakulam District he said: We could not stop the Phailin cyclone but we can definitely try to halt division of the state. If people extend their support we will certainly try to do that.
The words “try to” he used thrice in two sentences. But the print media, including The Hans India, somehow, interpreted differently, though it was there all over the news channels.
