Clearly, the UPA Chairperson is seeking to iron out the sticky points involved in the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Issues like Article 371 (D) and water-sharing have been identified as difficult issues. The Governor reportedly conferred again with the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director again on Friday, ahead of his meeting with Sonia Gandhi. Earlier, the Governor had met him in the office of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, along with Minister of State in PMO V Narayanasamy.
It was only on Thursday that Sonia Gandhi had met President Pranab Mukherjee and was understood to have discussed Telangana. Prior to her meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee, the Governor had met Sonia Gandhi. Indeed Sonia Gandhi trusts the President for his guidance. Equally, she seems to trust the Governor for his neutral view.
