At Chilakaluripet in Guntur district, an auto driver tried to abduct a girl. However, she jumped out of the running auto, suffering injuries. Moksha Pradayini, a first year degree student, hired an auto at Ganapavaram Centre in Nadendla mandal to reach her AMG Degree College at Chilakaluripet. As she was the lone passenger, the driver tried to kidnap her. As he did not heed her pleas to stop the vehicle, she jumped out of it. By the locals rushed to her and knew what transpired, he made good the escape. A search is on for him, based on a complaint by her relatives.
In Nalgonda, a four-year-old girl was kidnapped on Monday night. A nomadic couple Konda Yadagiri and Varalakshmi came to the town 20 days to eke out a living by weaving bamboo baskets. They stayed near the bus stand. Varalakshmi who woke up in the wee hours of Tuesday, found to her utter shock that the child was missing. They lodged a complaint with Munugodu police. A gang of six youth made a vain bid to kidnap a woman in Sriramavaram village in T Narsapuram mandal in West Godavari district. They arrived in the village on three two-wheelers and tried to spray Chloroform on her with a view to making her fall unconscious. However, onlookers raised a hue and cry and alerted villagers. In the melee, two youth escaped and others were caught and handed over to the police.
The youth were identified as Pamarthi Venkateswara Rao, Koteswara Rao and Manikanta from Kalaparru in West Godavari district, Mahesh from Mandalapalli in Khammam district, Suresh and another from Savitivaarigudem in West Godavari. The latter two had escaped. Police took into custody a woman along with five children near Chendodu railway station in Balayapalli mandal in Nellore district. Locals saw her moving with the children under suspicious conditions. The children said they were from Chandrababu Nagar Colony in Nellore town. Investigation is on.
