A special CBI court on Wednesday relaxed the bail conditions of YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to enable him to visit different parts of the state and New Delhi.
Jagan who was arrested in May last year was granted bail in the disproportionate assets case in September. The court had laid conditions that he should not leave the state capital without its permission. He filed an application in a Special CBI Court on October 11, requesting relaxation in conditions to allow him to visit different parts of AP and also New Delhi.
The CBI opposed relaxation of the conditions. But after hearing the arguments from the defence and the prosecution, the court decided to permit him to tour the state. It said that Jagan should inform the court about the tour schedule and the places he intends to visit two days in advance.
Jagan in his application had said that it was necessary for him to tour the state since he was an MP and also the president of a political party. He said the state was passing through a peculiar situation following the decision of the Centre to bifurcate the state
