Maa Hyderabad, an organisation fighting for the rights of Hyderabad, demanded the Group of Ministers (GoM) not to experiment with the 500-year old historical status of Hyderabad City.
Hyderabad must remain ‘unconditional capital’ of Telangana, nothing more, nothing less, it stressed.
Like many Telangana organisations, Maa Hyderabad too e-mailed a report to GoM on the terms of reference (ToR) included in the Cabinet Note. However, as the name suggests, it limited its views mostly on the status and law & order of Hyderabad.
In its report, Maa Hyderabad stated that Hyderabad development claims made by Andhra people, were a figment of lies and a conspiracy to encroach prime Telangana lands.
Hyderabad was a well developed state with its own airport, Assembly, underground drainage system (built between 1911-1913), besides, well laid cement roads etc.
Pointing out that Hyderabad houses people from 27 different states, regions, religions, caste, creed, language, including Seemandhras, it urged the GoM not to take law and order under its control. Such decisions would set wrong precedence, which may ostensibly lead to local, non-local frictions, not only in Hyderabad but also in other cities in the country, it felt.
