Babies going missing seems to have become a norm at the city-based hospitals. According to a complaint lodged with Musheerabad police station, a five-day-old baby girl was found missing from Farah Maternity and Nursing Home located at Dayara Market in Musheerababd on Monday. The hospital has no security system in place. There are no CCTV cameras either, which could give clues, police said.

According to the baby’s mother Rehana Begum, she found her child missing when she woke up early in the morning. She had given birth to the baby on November 7 and had been recovering at the hospital in room no. 1. On noticing the baby’s missing, she alerted her husband Sheikh Sadiq and the shocked family members immediately reported the incident to the hospital authorities who in turn complained to the police. According to police, while the baby and her mother were sleeping leaving the door partly opened, an unknown woman clad in black ‘burkha’ entered into the room.
While the woman was leaving the hospital, one Shahenaz Begum, a tenant of the building noticed the kidnapper. She informed that the kidnappper was of medium height, stout built, dark complexioned.
